Happiness, Laughter and Smiles....

I never realized how much the true power of our words and smile are... I have came to realize that life ( I mean the Creator) brings us so many blessings in disguise. Our struggles and accomplishments are others inspirations, simply sharing our stories can bring so much hope to our family, friends even complete strangers! Today was a true blessing in disuse, again I am reminded of my faith and staying in that positive frame of mind. A friend stopping by, my smiles and previous struggles brought hope and laughter within her. But truly a blessings was left in my home, remembrance. Sometimes I wish I could see life through my 4 year old's eyes. The innocence and her free spirit.... I pray she never looses that, what a great trait to have! It has taken at almost 30 years old to finally embrace my inner strength and free spirit that I have been suppressing for so many years. To be the person that I want to be, that I am.

Oh Happiness, Laughter and Smiles truly are infectious our lives are blessings and can be inspirations to anyone.. If I can inspire one person, that would be the biggest honer!!

OMG I made my curtains...

I am so proud and happy to say I finally made my curtains for my dinning area, it only took me 4 years!!! hahaha!!

It was one of the those projects that I just kept saying I was going to do.. Until everyone off my insolated curtains broke in my dinning area and living area. I refused to fix the string on them since I had big plans for beautiful curtains.. on January 1st I went with my mom to hancock fabric (they were having a huge sale on upholstry fabric 40-60% off) It only took me 5 min. to find the perfect fabric a lovely brown that would go perfect with my freshly painted kitchen walls (criket, a shade of green). And the best part, it was only $3.00 a yard!!! I was so happy to get such a great deal and my husband was even happier.

12.5 yards at $3 = $37.50

Then my next trip was to homedepot....

I found this idea online some wear so I am not taking the credit for it, but it honestly was the best find I have found in a long time!!

So back to my homedepot trip.. I bought:

1 pvc pipe 3/4" at 20'=$2.50
6 curtain brackets at $1.50 each = $9
4 christmas bulbs at .19 each = $ .76
Total = $12.26

Our final trip to Walmart....
we bought

1 black bottle acrylic paint $1.50
black spray paint for plastic $4.50
Total = $6.00

So here is what we did..

My husband measured and cut the pvc pipe to fit our curtains then went outside and spray painted them black. It took a few coats to get it just right, we waited till they were dry enough to bring them inside to finish drying since it was so cold outside they were just taking to long to dry... About a hour of drying after the finaly coat. As he was doing that I painted the christmas bulbs black with a foam brush and whipped them with the dry side of the brush to give a nice metalic look.. they dryed almost instantly since I was whipping off the paint as I went along.

My husband decided to hang 3 curtain brackets instead of 2 so that way the the rod would not sag in the middle.. two on the outside and one in the middle

I decided to make the sliding glass door curtains with tabs and use two panels so I could pull them to the side during the day.

The main dinning window has three pannels.... I sewed the opening wear the rod goes through snug so when the curtains were on there they were given a really nice gather to them.. All three pannels are gathered and tied down below the window trim with left over satin bies I had laying around and stabled to the wall... The outer panels come out to a little slant witch gave a really nice swoop look and the middle pannel gathered tightly..

They look so beautiful and look like I spend hundreds of dollars and for my grand total of $55.76 plus tax of coarse!! not bad for 2 1/2 hours worth of work..
